
In the foreground, you can see the front of the locals’ boat, used by Bruder E. Schut to go fishing when the sea is calm. He calls his little boat a majestic name: “Stoombarkas Zuidpool” (South Pole Steamboat).
Ohoideer-toetoe is located in the southwestern part of Little Kei, and has a population of 322 souls, half of which are Christians. The station (mission center) there was established on April 4, 1910.
From the reinforcement of the roofs and fences in front of the houses, it can be concluded that Ohoideer-toetoe is counting on strong westerly winds and thunderstorms. Ohoideer is a village with a bright future given its healthy location and fertile plantation.
